White Balance Read and Write

Not many digital camera owners understand the aspect of white light, or how to take advantage of it. The purpose for white balance is to get colors in an image as accurate as possible. Colors may look blue, orange, or yellow because of different kinds of bulbs. The range in different temperatures ranges from the very cool light of blue sky through to the very warm light of a candle. In a setting with bulbs that make the camera look blue or cool the camera settings should be turned up to “warm up” the camera and vise-versa. Different cameras have different ways to adjust white balance although there are semi-automatic and automatic modes to try out. Some examples being, Auto mode where the camera guesses, Tungsten mode is for indoor shoots where it cools the photo, and Fluorescent mode where it warms up the photo. There are other modes like shade, cloudy, flash, etc.. By using these modes you can avoid changing the white balance manually but if one chooses to do it manually  having a reference white card to show the camera is ideal.
